    Hotel Tonight - Amazing Deals

    HotelTonight

    47742 ratings

Look, I'm not trying to imply that you two have loose morals. But if you need a last minute hotel room (in certain cities), this is a good way to do it. Be spontaneous and whatnots.

    GrubHub

    87415 ratings

We've all had that night when our grand plans for a nice dinner get scuttled by your collective couch-bound inertia. Regain your status as the culinary hero by ordering delivery from his favorite restaurant with a few taps. Especially useful for...

  • Hero Forge Hero Forge

    Hero Forge

    Clapfoot Inc.

    11869 ratings

This puzzle battler is pretty impressive for a free app. Melds mahjong style puzzle racing with rpg elements like upgrading weapons and armor, with a free real-time multiplayer using G+. We're always on the lookout for new multiplayer games to pass...

  • Triple Town Triple Town

    Triple Town

    Spry Fox LLC

    114803 ratings

Triple Town is not a multiplayer game. So why put it here? Just to highlight one of the perks of using a couple's chat app. Sharing screenshots of high scores, frustrating spots, etc. is a pretty great way to make your favorite games into more of an...

  • Between - Private Couples App Between - Private Couples App

    Between - Private Couples App

    VCNC

    326777 ratings

Between is another app in the Avocado/Couple vein. It has a memory box style layout, with the ability to send short private voice messages (otherwise obviously very difficult with a phone). Something else to try if the style of Avocado doesn't speak...

  • AppDetox - Digital Detox AppDetox - Digital Detox

    AppDetox - Digital Detox

    AppDocs

    1261 ratings

Despite our best intentions, it can be hard to keep our phones in our pockets on dates. AppDetox can help wean you off that sweet, sweet Android sauce by allowing you to lock yourself out of certain apps for a proud of time. Get off Facebook, make...

  • GoingDutch GoingDutch

    GoingDutch

    Leslie Aerts Android Apps

    105 ratings

If you're a separate bank accounts type of couple, GoingDutch could be excellent for you. Enter what you're splitting, who paid, and you'll always know if it really did "balance out in the end".

  • MyDarling - Couple Application MyDarling - Couple Application

    MyDarling - Couple Application

    Chang's Studio

    8254 ratings

"But yo," you say, "I don't want fancy private chat. I just want to text and call her and whatnots." Then enjoy this hyper-cutesy widget which creates an anime-styled dashboard to contact your significant other. It even calculates the number of days...

  • Couple - Relationship App Couple - Relationship App

    Couple - Relationship App

    Life360

    31280 ratings

Couple fills the same need as Avocado, and they are pretty similar. Thumbkisses replace Avocado's hugs, lists, calendars, etc. Personally I feel the chat has too much of a generic Facebook look, but if Avocado doesn't look right to you, this is a...

  • Words With Friends Classic Words With Friends Classic

    Words With Friends Classic

    Zynga

    1689926 ratings

So, Ok. Maybe you played this a couple years ago, and uninstalled because it just got to be too much. So did lots of people. Now it potentially could be just a nice place to play "Scrabble" with your SO. With separate chat, so you can talk smack...

  • Avocado - Chat for Couples Avocado - Chat for Couples

    Avocado - Chat for Couples

    Avocado Software, Inc.

    21736 ratings

This isn't the only couples app on the market, but it's my (our) favorite. It's primary selling point is a dedicated chat/message space for the two of you. Set your face to change with different emoticons, share pics privately, keep lists of future...

  • Ink Cards Ink Cards

    Ink Cards

    Sincerely Inc

    2330 ratings

Even in 2013, there's still something special about getting a card in the mail. Now, find a photo she loves, type a little message, and have a great photo postcard mailed to her for $2 (or less) without getting off the couch. Brilliant.

  • Yelp Yelp

    Yelp, Inc

    318995 ratings

Every couple could use a new favorite restaurant. Find one.

  • Super Stickman Golf 2

    Super Stickman Golf 2

    Noodlecake Studios Inc

    180401 ratings

Less golf, more puzzle, SSG2 has a great multiplayer mode, letting you take turns playing a couple holes at a time at your own pace. Portals, gooey walls, magnets... the courses are fantastic, mulligans ample, and the victories taste extra sweet.

  • Field Trip Field Trip

    Field Trip

    Niantic, Inc.

    13510 ratings

Good for a spontaneous Saturday drive. Will provide unknown historical data, good photo spots, lesser known activities, good restaurants, and more. Turn your neighborhood into a little adventure.

  • YouTube YouTube

Have you heard of YouTube? Ok fine, me too. But subscribe to each other's channel, and use it to share glimpses of your life when he can't be there with you.

  • ooVoo Video Call, Text & Voice ooVoo Video Call, Text & Voice

ooVoo Video Call, Text & Voice

    ooVoo LLC

    1130506 ratings

Admittedly, my girlfriend would never willingly engage in a video phone call, but perhaps yours is more open to the idea. I use this more frequently to chat with my boys when we miss each other, and we find it works much better than Skype.
